Mock Interview

As part of your Private Consultation, we will provide you with a Mock Interview. Ideal for those applying to the universities of Oxford, Cambridge, or Medical School, this consultation is the perfect way to prepare. Interviews play a significant role in determining the success of your application once you have got through the previous stages of the application process. Indeed, Interviews are often the last stage of an application, and it is therefore vital that you are fully prepared. Many students will be unfamiliar with the interview set up, the nature of being interviewed, and the type of questions asked. This inexperience may contribute to nerves, so we believe it helps to know what to expect. By completing a mock interview, we will help applicants to feel more familiar and comfortable with the format and style of questions asked. Helping to reduce any unnecessary nerves, we will help manage expectations. Practising answering interview-style questions will build your confidence, which in itself will enable your passion for the subject to shine through any nerves.

Full Feedback with Strategy Session

In addition to a Mock Interview, you will receive full feedback with a strategy session. This will help you realise any sections of the interview process which you may need to invest in further. Our tutors will provide constructive feedback on your performance and work with you on any areas you need to improve. Practising an interview is incredibly helpful, as is the opportunity to strengthen your performance before your real interview. The strategy session will help you to improve your interview technique and teach you valuable and helpful tips to combat nerves, ensuring you feel prepared. At this stage parents will also be able to ask the tutor questions about how to best support their child through the application process.

Mock Admissions Test

Admissions tests are often part of the application process and have an important role in discerning whether or not an applicant has the ability required to meet the demands of their chosen degree programme. Admissions tests also influence whether you will be asked for an interview. It is therefore crucial that you are prepared. By completing a Mock Admissions Test, applicants will be able to familiarise themselves with the format and type of questions asked. As admissions tests are often different to examinations applicants will have previously experienced, practising beforehand cannot be recommended highly enough.

Personal Statement Review

Applying to Oxford or Cambridge is an extremely competitive process, and applicants, therefore, need a personal statement which will stand out. As part of your Private Consultation, we offer a personal statement review, which will help applicants understand what needs to be included, but also areas where they may need to spend more time on. Our tutors will review elements that need bolstering in your statement with further reading or research, or experience beyond your current syllabus. This will show your academic strengths and demonstrate your passion for the subject.
