International Consultation for Oxbridge

Every year, the Getting In team supports countless international applicants to the universities of Oxford and Cambridge.

Private consultations for international students can be booked with our team at any point during the week or over the weekend. At every stage of the process, we guarantee maximum flexibility which will be particularly useful if you are applying from a different timezone to the UK. Our consultants are all Oxbridge graduates, who bring a wealth of first-hand experience and knowledge to the consultation process.

You will be expected to complete a mock examination, geared towards assessing your academic strengths and weaknesses and ultimately increasing your chances of success when it comes to your application to Oxbridge. You will also complete a mock interview, based on the subject you hope to apply for. Detailed feedback will be given that will help to shape your application strategy moving forwards and will highlight any areas of improvement.

Oxbridge Consultation Structure

Our package for International Consultation can be split into three main stages:

Mock Test(s) & Interview

  • A subject-specific test or tests, based on real past questions from Oxbridge admissions tests.

  • A mock interview, based on past interview questions from Oxbridge and tailored to the subject you hope to study.

  • The purpose of the mock test(s) and interview is to assess applicants’ subject knowledge, academic aptitude and potential to receive an offer from Oxbridge. Feedback will be given at every stage by the assigned consultant, with the aim of helping students develop a strategy for upcoming application preparation.

Parental Consultation

  • Following completion of the mock interview and test(s), the assigned consultant speaks with an applicant’s parent(s) or guardian(s) to discuss the applicant’s performance.

  • This opens up the opportunity for parents or guardians to ask any questions relevant to the Oxbridge application process, as well as to the applicant’s performance on the test(s) and interview.

Feedback & Forward-Planning

  • Consultant, applicant and family can then work together to come up with a strategy of assessment, practice, and improvement that will help bolster the applicant’s chances of being offered a place at Oxbridge.

Private consultation for international applicants is available to students as young as fourteen. We believe wholeheartedly in the advantages of beginning your Oxbridge journey as early as possible, particularly as GCSE results are taken into account by admissions teams. We will not, however, provide students under seventeen with mock tests or interviews.

Mock exams and reduced-duration mock exams are tailored to the various admissions tests required for entrance to different courses at Oxbridge (HAT, BMAT, MAT, ENGAA, ELAT, and others).
