What’s Included In the Online Summer School?
Initial Consultation
Led by Oxbridge and Medical School experts, initial consultation gives students the chance to discuss any concerns, any questions about the Oxbridge or Medical School application process, and to talk about choices in terms of university, college, and course. This will then allow our team to assign each student a personal expert tutor who will then act as their mentor throughout.
Mentoring Sessions
Scheduled once per week for the entire duration of the programme (8 sessions in total), Mentoring sessions are led by Oxbridge and Medical School graduates, all of whom have private tutoring and mentoring experience. Sessions will include coaching and advice across a variety of disciplines, including help with interviews, encouragement with further reading, and subject-specific questioning. Feedback is given after every session, allowing the student maximum time to reflect and improve on their subject knowledge and skills.
Mock Interviews
Starting from Week Four of the programme, students will participate in weekly Mock Interviews based on real past interview questions. Interviews will be formal, and as close to a true Oxbridge or Medical School interview as can be. Feedback will be given after each interview, allowing students to implement these comments in their next session.
Personal Statement Review
One of the most crucial elements of an Oxbridge or Medical School application is the personal statement, and this is treated as such by our tutors, who will work with students to review multiple drafts. With only 4,000 characters, it’s vital that students are able to be concise, while still getting across their interests, experience, passion, and aptitude.
Final Interview
Nobody knows the admissions process better than admissions tutors themselves, and so in the final week of the Summer School we pair students with a real Oxbridge or Medical School Admissions tTtor for a formal mock interview. The Admissions Tutor will provide the student with written and verbal feedback, identifying areas to work on in preparation for the real thing.
The Aim of the Game
Upon completion of the eight-week programme, students will have made essential and noticeable progress in terms of their Oxbridge or Medical School preparation.
